I started reading The Cricket in Times Square with the boys today. I started the book planning to read the first two chapter, ended reading four! They are loving it!! Planning to finish it by Christmas.
One of my favorite family times is reading a chapter book together. I already know this one will be one of our favorites.
Do you have a favorite chapter book you read as a child that you have or would like to share with you children?
I am a mother of 4 boys and a baby girl. My goal in homeschooling is to raise Christians that are leaders in their generation. I hope to raise them so they live a life where they set their own standards, being men and women of integrity with strong convictions and who march to the beat of their own drum. Educating them at home is the most rewarding and at the same time most challenging experience I have ever had. I am an educator at heart and love to share resources with other homeschoolers. I love Cricket in Times Square. I don’t remember reading it as a child but I have read it aloud it to my girls. My childhood favorite might be the Laura Ingalls Wilder books. I loved those as a child and I did read them aloud to my children. I agree you have a beautiful family!
Thanks!! We love Little House In The Big Woods and also want to get through the series. We ar still working through the first book
My older boys like it but I dont think it moves quck enough or have enough action for my 6 year old.
As a kid in elementary school my three favorite books were The Cricket in Times Square, Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIHM and Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. We had so much fun doing our Cricket in Times Square Unit. I am looking forwad to the other two as well.
